Run Powershell scripts from a helpdesk web portal

I have been toying with the idea of extending the helpdesk online web portal (a twitter bootstrap linking to IT management systems) with the ability to run custom powershell scripts from the web page – essentially a web frontend to the scripts.

  • Think One Click Emergency shutdown by the IT director for when the site loses powers and needs to act when running on ups power or for planned outages.
  • Kick off patching on the servers from the webpage.
  • Automate decommisioning of staff accounts process via deailing with accouint disabling, exporting mailbox, zipping their homedrive to storage etc from the portal
